I am totally exhausted at all times. I wake up many times during the night, I fall asleep on short drives. I have dizzy spells and shortness of breath after walking a short distance. I have gained alot of weight after quitting smoking (after 30+ years) I am currently 5'8" and 260. I went to the Dr and he did many tests including a CT scan of my heart and an MRI, he then did a fasting blood sugar test. All came out normal, except I was vitamin D deficient. I was severly anemic (ferratin level of 2) a couple of years ago and had to have iron infusions 3 days a week for the better part of 6 wks. At that time I also had the thermal ablation surgery ( although my periods have mostly returned back to normal now) I dont think this is what it is again because the other symptoms are not there this time. I had a recommendation to see and endocrinologist as they might be able to put the pieces together better. So should I see the endocrinologist or just switch doctors till they find something?
