I am a 53 yr old woman who had a hysterectomy (full) in 1993.......due to infertility and endometrosis (sp). I found myself overwhelmed when i lost my apt and job in Tacoma, WA due to my hours changing at work and an ongoing battle with my ex husband who took custody of my son in 2007, when i lived down in NV., and i have not seen my son since, nor talk to him rarely, not by fault of my own. to make this short, i was ordered to pay child support which was taken out of my paycheck, so after numerous attempts to get it lowered, i advised the State of NV that i would give up my back alimony (which was in the thousands) if i didn't have to pay child support, well my agreed. It put me into a state of depression and my hormones are surely out of loop.....I currently live with my boyfriend of 2 yrs on an Island in WA.I don't work and its been hard. I dont sleep, ever, my moods are off the charts, I have no medical insurance......Ive tried taking natural supplements but they dont seem to work ..............can anyone help me??? ive fallen on deft ears alot lately and its affecting my relationship with the Man i Love....and sometimes i dont want to live

I guess i am confused here, I see constantly on TV people promoting the wellness and health of women....but yet if some of us, don't have the resources or income and need help desperately we get shoved to the side..........The only thing you see on TV these days is rich people getting help..........not the men/women who have fallen on hard times.........thats all i have to say...........I am not mentally ill as your response stated that maybe i should go too a Mental Health clinic at a Hospital, i just needed some help...........i will delete this site as i have others who only help the un-needy...........

You are certainly overburdened with stress. The constant high level of cortisol, the stress hormone, has a negative impact on your general health, from affecting your sleep pattern to the relationship with your boyfriend.

I am most concerned about your suicidal thoughts. Depression is a chronic and serious condition that will not go away on its own, nor can it be treated with herbal or natural supplements.

Your depression may be circumstance linked, and reasonably so. I understand your plight of not having health insurance. But, you really need treatment, either counseling and anti-depressant medications or both. The problem is how to get you the help you need.

Is there a community clinic that offers mental health care close to your home? Sometimes, hospitals offer a mental health clinic at a reduced rate or offer financial assistance? Does your community have a social services department? As an unemployed person, have you applied for Medicaid? This may be an option for getting the help which you so desperately need.
I truly wish that I had something more to offer,
Maryann
