I missed the last three birth control pills of my 21-day pack and had unprotected sex can i get pregnant??

I have been taking bc pills for about 6 months now. 3 months ago i switched from nordette to althea.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. Did you miss a period? Since you missed the last three pills, you should start your new pack as normal and be sure to protect yourself for at least the first 7 days of starting your new pack of pills. We cannot determine if you are pregnant from your question although if you miss your pills, you always risk the chance of pregnancy.

I forgot to add that i could not take the missed pills because i lost the pack.
