I want to know if there is in actuality a difference between HRT and bio-identical hormone replacement therapy.

How do I find a doctor who really specializes in this?

Dear Vildac,

The main difference between HRT and bioidentical hormones is that bioidentical hormones are custom-made for you based on a saliva test. The best person to explain the differences and similarities between HRT and bioidentical hormones is an Endocrinologist, which is a doctor that specializes in hormones.

Wishing you the best,

Rosa

Thank you very much. I am surprised because I was sure that it would be some kind of ob/gyn.

It definitely could be an OB/GYN but it would help if he specialized in Menopause. If you could find one in your area that specializes in menopause then by all means choose that doctor. :)
