Q:

If I were to take a pregnancy test on the 3rd day of my period, will it tell me if I were pregnant, and I believe that I have had a miscarriage?

My period starts out light, and 2 days ago, it started dark, and I saw tissue...I recently had a early miscarriage in 05/11, so this concerns me..I didn't know that I was pregnant then, and possibly maybe now,AND LOSING MY BABY AGAIN.

I am truly sorry that you have had a miscarriage in May and possibly another one recently.

A pregnancy test measures hCG levels. hCG is a hormone that is produced only during pregnany. If you did have a miscarriage, there will be no measurable hCG. If you were not pregnant, there will be no hCG. So, you can expect a negative result.

Since you have had a miscarriage in May, I suggest you give your gynecologist a call. The dark blood and tissue which you noticed should be evaluated by your doctor.

I wasn't sure of what to do at the time. My body didn't feel any different, so I discarded everything. I am sorry that I did that, but I didn't want to unnecessarily upset my fiance or myself anymore than I already was. Since I had my lost in May, I keep looking for things to happen, and I didn't want to seem paranoid, but I will be more careful, and contact me OBGYN. Thanks
