Hi, I have a kind of problem and I'm really embarrassed about it. I have scoliosis and I'm in treatment for it. Because of this issue I have a lot of pain in my breast bones in both breasts and my doctor who is doing my back treatment said for such pain in the breast bone my neurologist can give me injection called prednisone injection. My problem is I'm embarrassed for my neurologist to give me such thing in the breast area. I'm only comfortable about such matter with my oncologist only. I saw my oncologist two days ago and I explained to him such issue I have and he told me my neurologist would be the right person to give me such thing. I never saw my neurologist for such personal matter and I'm embarassed and uncomfortable for him to give me such thing. Since my neurologist is giving the okay to have such injection would you think it's possible that I tell my oncologist to give me this since I'm comfortable with him coming from the order of my neurologist? Please let me know what do you think and what I can do.

Thank you for your reply. I'm actually waiting to hear from his secratary and she is a female so I'm going to talk to her about the whole issue before getting the injection. \

One more thing whenever I come here I can't log out and it doesn't let me log out. I don't feel right like this especially by being a a different computer. The other thing is When I want to login in the search box says enter email and password and as I enter them they over write on the words of email and password and I can't see what I'm typing. Same thing as I'm writng to you here. It says here write your comment here and the writing doesn't go away either. It's over writing as I'm writing right now. Please let me know who can fix this issue and to fix this matter sooner because it's been awhile I have this issue and I know it's mostly because of your website.

Hello Melissa,
It is understandable that you would feel uncomfortable. But, if you want to receive the injection of prednisone, you must have it administered by the ordering physician. In this case, it is the neurologist.
Most likely, the neurologist will inject the medication into a muscle, either in your buttocks, upper arm, or thigh.

Thank you for your reply. I have scoliosis which I'm in treatment for it and in general I have low back pain and recently my pain feels worse. I also have a lot of pain in the breast bone in both breasts and my doctor who is treating me said I should tell my neurologist to give me the prednisone injection in the lower back and in the breast bone. When my neurologist does this for me what I'm not comfortable is getting the injection in to my breast bone. Would you think it be okay that for injecting in the breast bone my neurologist gives this order to my oncologist so he can give this to me? I'm only comfortable with my oncologist about this. I'm to embarassed if my neurologist gives this to me. What do you think I can do? Please let me know soon.

Hello Melissa,
No, the oncologist cannot and will not administer an injection ordered by the neurologist. This would be unethical.
Why not talk with the neurologist. Ask him where he will give you the injection. Share your concern and feeling of embarrassment. I am sure he will do his best to make you feel comfortable.
