Hello Anon
Thank you for writing.
We're understand that "candy" is not an appropriate answer but thank you for your input.
For the benefit of our readers, glucose is a type of sugar (carbohydrate). It is the body's main source of fuel. When the level of glucose in the blood becomes too low, it is called hypoglycemia. If the glucose levels are too low the body can not function properly.
Fresh fruit and fruit juice is the best option with low sugar. Some people who have prolonged or severe hypoglycemia take glucagon. Glucagon is an injectable hormone. It raises blood sugar levels.
It can be used in emergencies when people have a severe reaction. It can be used if the person cannot take sugar by mouth.
Avoid drinking too much alcohol.
Eat frequent, small meals (5 to 6 per day) with whole grains, fresh veg and fruit. Carbs should always be taken with protein, not alone. Cheese, eggs, chicken, fish, meat, tofu, legumes, nuts, nut butter and seeds are good protein sources. Any fruit and vegetable is a good choice but should also be taken with a little protein.
Take care to eat sufficiently before exercising.
Working with a nutritionist can help.
