i am 20yrs old..i had regular periods initially but since 1yr i hav been having irregular peiods..sometimes i skip for 1 or 2 months..and also i hav been having increased duration of periods for more than 15-20 days for which i was told 2 take estrogen therapy for 21 days for 2 months(it ws regular dat tym n 1 month after d treatment) but aftr dat agin thers incresed duration for which i tuk d same treatment n stoppd after 2months..n now back again wid d same prob.??watz d prob wid me.??wts d cause n treatment for ths.??

Dear Anonymous,

There are certain instances where your doctor will prescribe birth control pills to regulate your period-- you have to be ready for long-term therapy rather than two months and then stopping. There can be a few reasons for this such as ovarian cysts...but the best person to give you a diagnosis is the doctor who is trying to regulate your period with birth control pills. If you are still bleeding for 10-15 days please call your doctor asap.
