Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

When it comes to fatigue, the obvious solution is to get as much rest/sleep as possible, eat well and exercise. But according to studies, fatigue is the most common symptom of menopause so it it normal? I think we could say yes, it;s a very normal symptom of menopause and peri menopause.

Have you noticed a change once taking your HRT?

I have noticed a decrease in hot flashes but an increase in my fatigue and less energy during the day. My periods are very irregular and my Dr. says that is normal. She put me on bioidentical HRT therapy with tubes of cream that i use daily. I have all my "female" parts and have had 5 children. My husband doesn't seem to understand and I feel like he isn't completely sympathetic. Hope I get some energy back soon & I will discuss this at my next Dr. appt.

Hi MoodyMama

I am 47 too; my periods started to become irregular some months back and are regular again which means I'm likely entering peri-menopause too. I have no other symptoms but I have already talked to my husband about the changes to come and he gets it; I'd suggest you give him reading material so he can learn on his own. These years are not easy on any of us and a supportive partner is key.
You also have us to talk to!
Best,

I have noticed a considerable decrease in hot flashes, but am tired and fatigued during the day. I am sleeping better at night (decreased hot flashes) but still feel unenergetic when I wake up:( My moods are up and down but I feel a bit better since starting the bioidentical HRT therapy last fall in the form of creams I use on my arm. My periods are irregular but my Dr. says this is normal.

The HRT (bioidentical) has helped greatly with the hot flashes and the inability to sleep at night. Im 47 and I still have my menstrual cycles only they are very irregular:(( I am wondering when or if I am going to feel normal again and hope that I will get some energy back once my hormones level out. I am using progesterone cream 1-2 clicks at night and estrogen cream 1-2 clicks in the morning. Thanks and Menopause is no fun:(
