Is it possible to be pregnant?

Ok. So here is the story. I have an IUD the first day of my last period was August 9th. I am almost always regular. However, in the past mo. I have moved, stopped using opiates, changed to a withdrawal med, went off my anti depressants, started exercising vigorously, eating better and I have picked up full time school and I am moving across the country to be with my husband who has been threatening to divorce me. So I ended up sleeping with someone else, I used a condom and it did not break. I have an IUD and I can feel the string inside when i reach my finger really far up to my cervix level. I was breaking out really bad thinking omg I am prego. However, I have seen a tiny bit of discharge that looks like the kind I get a few days before my period on/off. I do not have pain. I am really stressed. Do you think it is possible to get pregnant with an IUD and CONDOM or am I just scaring myself to the point of no period...Also my skin is starting to clear up after about 2 week of a horrible break out....I took to pregnancy tests that are supposed to be accurate from the day of your missed period and they both said negative. So what do you think? Should I get a blood test or wait it out? I am so worried because everything in my life has been a mess and things are starting to fall back into a good place. I do not want anything to mess it up and I feel like god might punish me for infidelity, ugh I am a mess! But basically what are the chances CONDOM, IUD, both used correctly.....???

Hi Anonymous

I think you are freaking yourself out, maybe out of guilt. You haven't really even missed your period yet. I recommend you take a breath, think about where you are trying to go with your life, and work toward that without all the distraction and worry.

I don't know if you are getting any therapy, but with the myriad life changes you are going through all at once, it might be worth considering if for no other reason than just to get a grip on your anxiety.

I wish you the best of luck. Thank you for writing.
