Is it safe to have protected (condom) sex on the 6th or 7th day of a period cycle

My periods are regular. Cycle is 26-27 days.
The next due date of my periods is 10th or 11th May. It lasts a little more than 4 days.
Is it safe to have protected (condom) sex on 15th or 16th may (these will be the 6th or 7th days of my next cycle)?I've never had sex before. Is it safer to have protected sex just before periods (like the 24th or 25th day) or just after periods (like the 6th or 7th day).
Could you also please tell me if having sex for the first time or in general, delays the next period ?

And to be on the safer side , is it advisable for me have some pill or tablet after sex? Could you suggest something? Do these medicines delay periods?
