I was ten days late on my period, so I went to the doctor after have a negative pregnancy test. She diagnosed me with a vaginal infection because of the missed period and vaginal discharge I was experiencing. She prescribed me some medication to heal the infection and to bring on a period. After waiting two days to hear the results of my tests, I got a call that it was not an infection. I never took the medication because my period came in the next two days.
Now, I have had my period for eight days, which is not normal for me. Normal is five days. This period has been really heavy, and I have passed three large blood clots.
What could this mean/ be?
When should I seek care from my doctor again?
Thanks!
