My son is 20 months old. He started limping last tuesday, i took him to the doctor and they thought maybe he had stepped on something, it wasn't getting any better so sunday i brought him to childrens hospital, they did x-rays and blood work and everything came back normal. The doctor said he had transient synovitis, swelling in the ball joint of his hip most likely, casued by an ear infection. I was reading that it could last anywhere from 1-3 weeks. Has anyone ever had this happen to thier child? and how long did it last? The doctor at the hospital said if it didn't get better within a few days to make an appointment with the orthopedic doctor, but if i can last up to 3 weeks, i dont know if i should just wait a little longer or not. Advice please!!
