lump in groin of 15 yearold granddaughter

The lump just noticed today. It is small with some pain. How common would it be for a hernia or glandular infection.

Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. Groin strains are certainly not uncommon for young teens who are active. When these do occur, there is not much you can do rather than try and relax the muscle as much as you can as the strain will go away on its own. If she is experiencing pain, I would certainly take her to a physician to make sure there is not another underlying issue occurring.
