Hi, Today I had CT and ultrasound done because I experience under arm and breast pain. The main concern I have which is my doctor told me that my under arm is red infected and gave me antibiotics until I felt better. The CT I had done the technologist told me that "he doesnt see anything unusual". I'm thinking since I had antibiotics it cleared up everything that's why didn't show anything. It's been about 10 times I'm experiencing such pain and problem and I'm wondering how is it possible not showing anything? My doctor told me my under arm pain can be either from lymph nodes or to much shaving, Since the technologist said didn't see anything unusual do you think my doctor would know more about what's going on even though CT saying nothing unusual? I'm thinking since he said nothing unusual meaning there is something to it but nothing abnormal though. Do you think this makes sense to you? I'm seeing my doctor next week for all these and follow up. So I'm hoping in everyway for my doctor to understand this whole situation and that this problem goes away. A part of me is still making me worried though.

Hi Melissa,
If the technician was able to interrupt the CT scan results and make a diagnosis, then he or she would be a radiologist. Ethically, a tech is not allowed to comment on imaging scans. That is what a doctor does.
Please, direct all your questions about your underarm and any other symptoms to your doctor.

Okay thanks. If you don't mind what do you think this sentence means to you when a technologist gives you a CD of films and then says "the technologist said he didn't see anything unusual"?

I wanted to ask you a question which is I realized under my left arm, from the middle of my under arm all across by touch I feel sharp pain by a light touch and when I move my skin I see tiny little red zit looking spots. Could these mean anything bad? I will definitely mention and show this to my doctor and I'm very surprised in what I noticed. Looks strange to me and seems like this is the cause of my problem. My right under arm doesn't look as bad as my left under arm but I do feel deep pain in both under arms. I'm seeing my doctor next week with my results. I really do hope everything goes well in everyway.

Hi Melissa,
Your doctor will review the results of the CT scan with you. He can answer all of your questions.
