Milky white vaginal discharge

Earlier today I had a clear discharge that just gushed out and this evening I open my legs and what looked like milk came out. I have never seen anything like it before. What does this mean? Am I pregnant? Am I ovulating? Or is this my vagina's way of cleaning itself? Neither discharge had a smell. My menstrual cycle was just last week and was cut short. I have also been having these short moments of feeling like I am going to start on my cycle as well. Any suggestions about what is going on with my body?

Yeah, I've had this same thing for years. It happened when I was like, 9, and im also a type 1 diabetic. I hear diabetics are prone to yeast infections, and since im still a virgin, there is no way it is due to pregnancy. I dont know what to do because I can't drive yet, and there is no way im telling my mom. Does anyone have suggestions? Home remedies?

Hello wonderful people! Here's a quandary for you:

I'm in my early thirties, and have been suffering from hypogonadism for over a decade (no menstruation, no ovulation, low levels of all the "lady" hormones). With the help of God and modern medicine, I have been blessed with two children through IVF (I don't have Premature Ovarian Failure, just stopped menstruating all together!). My youngest is currently 9 months old, and nursing a lot. For the last two weeks, I've been getting increased vaginal discharge - mostly clear, but sometimes slightly milky. No pain, no odor, no burning, no mucus. I went for a blood workup, and it showed that my hormone levels are at their characteristic looooooow levels, and that I'm not pregnant. I also did a pelvic exam and intra-vaginal ultrasound. Nothing interesting there.
So what is this? It's not like I have hormone fluctuations attributable to a "time of the month". But I'm getting tired of changing my underwear all the time... who has any ideas why this is happening? Thank you!!

ha! I thought i was the only one!!! I have a four year old daughter, am sexually active, but not pregnant... i've been having this discharge for years actually, its about a week a month that my underwear feels wet and after i pee there is a milky discharge on the toilet paper, like a lot of discharge.. Im prone to infections and know what a yeast infection feels like and a utc and it's neither, theres nothing abnormal except that the bed is extremely wet when we get done having sex, and i have this discharge, be it during the day walking around, if im not wearing underwear my pants feel like i peed myself, or after i pee this milky spit like crap comes out... i've had this for a while and just feel that it's our body's way of excrementing certain things... i don't think its anything to be alarmed about, and i don't think it means your pregnant. . . i've just learnt to deal with it, lol... good luck to all of you, and def. if you feel any discomfort down there, you should seek doctors attention, i've been there and know that, and an infection left untreated could be a real pain....

Hi.
I have had a thin white discharge for over two months already, when to the dr. the first time he said it was bacterial vag. (he did a swap test down there) game me metronidazol, he called three days later to tell me to stop the medication because it was just a yeast infection. I had the treatment for the yeast inf. for a week. but now since like six weeks after that, I have been having this thin white discharge, no smell, no itching, sometimes is heavy, and not pain during intercourse. I went back to my obg he said it was leukhorrea due to hormonal changes..And I have to learn to live with this, hmm? I'm not very happy with the diagnostic, it really bothers me. Dr recommended very good hygiene, keep the area very clean.. Any suggestions?
O will really appreciate your feedback. Thanks.

During ovulation some women will let a lot of discharge go, especially those who have already had a baby. If youve had your period over a week ago, your releasing another egg and this is the way your body is preparing. I have the same issue and after research and doctor visits this is what seemed to make tge most sense.
Those that claim you have an std or yeast infection: trust me you wouldnt be asking, you would know. There would be other signs such as strong oders and iching/burning.
Theres nothing to worry about its just ovulation in your child bearing years :) have fun baby making lol!

I have the same experience as well and I am not sexually active so pregnancy is ruled out as the only cause.

Hi Daemon,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. The information that you provided simply sounds like a yeast infection. These are often pretty common and the burning sensation you feel is often attributed to it. Our vaginal areas carry bacteria and if there is a slight adjustment to that bacteria, this will cause an infection. You can try over the counter Monistat (or generic brand) to deal with this issue.

You can also get a bacterial infection as they are non-sexually related also. My first impression is that you probably have a yeast infection though. For more information, click here https://www.empowher.com/yeast-infection/content/yeast-infections-sympto....

You can also eat yogurt to help balance the yeast in your body as well. I hope this helps. Do not be afraid as these are very common although they are certainly uncomfortable.

Best of luck,

Missie

Hi! I really need empowHER's help. I am a 15 year old girl, and experiencing something just like this. I will go into more detail.
So like last week, I noticed that my underwear felt wet, so I checked to see if it was my period. It was just clear discharge, and I've had that before, so I just assumed that it was my vagina cleaning itself... I just wiped it off, put a paper towel there, and let it go. My vagina kept discharging this though, over several days, and is still doing this now. I had also been feeling discomfort in my jeans a little in my vaginal area, it burns a little and feels uncomfortable sometimes. As well, I have done the 'personal HND' and had a similar discharge, but never so much like this, and never over this many days! Just to make this clear, this started happening AFTER my period.

I have irregular periods as it is, but I am a VIRGIN. I have never had sex, ever. So it can't be that I'm pregnant.

I was looking down there today as I went to the bathroom, and it discharged it again. It comes out the same way the blood from my period comes out... stringy, hanging out, like spit. It looks clear, but milky in some spots, almost striped, one stripe clear, one stripe white... And it just came out, and fell into the toilet. It is so weird and I want to know what it is!

I don't know where this problem could've came from. It makes my underwear damp, and uncomfortable. I will start to wear pads again, but this is weird and I want to know what it is. And I don't think it's a bacterial infection, because from what I read, that mostly affects older women.

My periods are weird and irregular, meaning that they tend to be long, then go away for a couple of days (3 or 4), then come back again... one time I had a period that lasted 10 days (my first one), stayed away for 4 days, then came back again and lasted another week.

I've been eating hot pockets quite a bit this week (I am trying to stop) so that's where my sugar has been coming from... and a lot of ketchup.

Any ideas where this might be coming from or why it's happening or what the heck it is? Please reply!

Guide

Have a blood pregnancy (hCG) test done. Either visit your doctor's office, a health clinic or Planned Parenthood.

A blood test is more expensive, but also, more accurate than a urine test for pregnancy.
