Hi,

I think its great you can get advice on here, I am 24 and in a fantastic relationship.

I have two questions; Im currently on cilest 21 day pills , and 7 days free, and have been for about a year, i was due on my period on the 27th october 2010, however on the 6th october i had antibiotics for a chest infection, on the 30th I was due on my period but i only came on for 3days extremely light only when i wiped. This has never happened before.. we always have unprotected sex,

I have done 4 test 2 error ans 2 negative last test was on the the 5th nov, is this normal to miss a period??

Then to top it all i went away on the 6th Nov and forgot my pills for 3 days and had sex again for those 3 days unprotected. I have just got back home and unsure what to do??

could I be pregnant?? If i was it would be fantastic news even though we wasnt trying..

Hi llou86,
Please let us know what happens at the doctor. Something similar happened to me recently. I started bleeding after getting two positive home pregnancy tests, so if your test turned up negative, then you may have experienced a chemical pregnancy like I did. Unfortunately, we are so precise with our cycles now, that we know every detail immediately. Years ago before home pregnancy tests and ovulation kits, women may have experienced early term miscarriage and not even known it (at least that's how the nurse at my doctor's office put it).
Here's the full story of what happened to me:
My Chemical Pregnancy Story
I feel for you and all the emotions you must be feeling. Please keep in touch with us and let us know how you're doing.
Warmest regards,
Christine

Hi llou86,
Congrats!! I'm glad you got the result you wanted. Did you stop taking your birth control pills and start taking prenatal vitamins? You may want to give a call to your gynecologist/obstetrician's office to make sure you get that first pregnancy check-up scheduled and get any special instructions from them.
There are some great Pregnancy resources on EmpowHER you can check out as needed, or let us know if you have any questions about symptoms, etc. so we can continue to help you advocate for yourself.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.

Congratulations llou86!! That's such Fantastic news!

As far as your questions about flying at 27 weeks-- that depends. Some doctors will suggest not flying after 28 weeks to be on the safe side but will normally be okay with it if you are not considered a "high risk" patient. As your flight date gets closer, perhaps in February...you may want to talk to your OB to give you the "OK" on that traveling. Again, it really depends on your pregnancy itself and how comfortable your doctor is with you traveling in your third trimester. Remember to also user your best judgement-- no one knows how you feel during pregnancy better than yourself.

Good Luck and Congrats once again!

Hi llou86,
Thanks for your question. Anytime you miss several birth control pills (BCP) and have unprotected sex, you have an increased chance of pregnancy. Have you gotten back on track with your pills by now? If you aren't, these articles may help explain what to do: Missing Birth Control Pills and Concerned About Pregnancy: Q&A and and Oops! Missed Birth Control Pill Advocacy Sheet
Additionally, your period may not show up exactly when you expect it to since you got off track with your pills. If it shows up (even if it's different from normal or lasts longer than a few hours), you're not pregnant. Wait a few days if it ends up being late this month, then you can take a pregnancy test if it is a "no-show" to see if you ended up getting pregnant. If it's positive, at that time, you can stop taking your pills, and start taking a pre-natal vitamin. Taking pills this month will not affect any possible pregnancy--you can just stop taking them if you find out you're pregnant. Hope that makes sense.
Good luck and let us know how you're doing.
