Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Swelling of the ankle and feet is relatively frequent symptom in most people. In itself it does not represent a disease but rather the symptom of an underlying disease.

How old are you? Have you been diagnosed with any medical conditions?
Has any thing changed in your life at the time the swelling started? Do you stand on your feet for a long period of time?

Causes of foot and ankle edema includepregnancy, certain medications, congestive heart failure, liver failure, alcoholism, lymphedema and infections.

Please call and speak with your primary care physician. This cannot be ignored.
Best,
Susan
