I have had, in the past, rotator cuff surgery on both shoulders, in 1999. My left shoulder has lingering pain by the end of the day, nut all during the day, even when I am not using my left arm, it seems to go to sleep..numb. Not painful, no jaw pain or other symptoms of heart ..I am worried. Any ideas?

Hi Nursesing,

Thank you for your question. We cannot diagnose you but my first assumption about your question is that it may be due to your surgery. Once you have a surgery, your nerves tend to be damaged and need time to heal. I had ankle surgery well over a year ago and still get tingling sensations since the nerves are still healing. However, if you are concerned about possible heart issues, I would follow up with your treating physician immediately.

Please keep us posted.
