Q:

My period is late after taking Postinor 2

Hello,
I was on my 6th day of my cycle (just finishing my period). The condom split so I took the first tablet of postinor2 2 hours later (1am). We then had unprotected sex 6 hours later (7am). I took the 2nd postinor tablet 3 hours later(10am).
8 days later I had heavy bleeding lasting 4 days. Firstly, is this a sign that postinor worked?
Since then i have had no sign of my period.
In the last 2 weeks (aboit 22nd day of cycle) I have had the flu and been unwell. This has all made me quite anxious.
My period cycle is quite irregular.
Thanks for your help in advance

Hey, I had unprotected sex on my ovulation day but took the pill an hour before 24hours of when when I did it and the 2nd pull exactly after 12hours. My period has delayed by 2 days and breasts have been tender for a week and I have on and off abdominal pains though slightly painful. Could the pills have failed or breast tenderness and delayed period is as a result of P2 side effects? Please I need feedback

Hello.

The delay might be from the ECP, we cannot say. The only way to know if you are pregnant is to test, which is recommended if you don't get your period within a week or two of the expected date. ECP works by preventing ovulation, If ovulation has already occurred, ECP can’t stop you from getting pregnant. It's not an abortion pill and will not terminate a pregnancy already in place.

I've took postinor2 last month and it delayed my period and it affects my menstration flow. Other than that i also experiencing withdrawal bleeding. Then i took postinor 2 again recently, will it have the same effect as last month? Will postinor2 cause breast tenderness and nausea?

Hi,

P2 is not to be used often or as regular birth control, as It can cause irregularity in your cycle. The breast tenderness and nausea are likely a side effect of ECP. You should read the information that comes with any medication before taking it.

Hi,

This is not how ECP is to be used. You have taken too much and it will likely cause irregularity in your cycle. I can't predict when your period will come. You will need to wait it out.
