ok so the first day of my last period was aug 11th and i had unprotected sex on the 4th of sept and my boyfriend did cum inside of me ...i took a ept test this morning snd it was neg...should i test again ?...if so how log should i wait?

Take heart for now that the test was negative. The spotting also is a good sign that you are not pregnant. I have had cycles like that, especially when I was younger. If you have been stressed out about all of this, it could be a reason why things are "different." Keep an eye on this cycle, and continue to protect yourself if you have any new encounters with you boyfriend so it will stop the stress and hopefully get you back on track. Symptoms of pregnancy are similar to menstrual symptoms, so those are generally not great indicators. If I were you, and the period remains light, I might take another test in a week or schedule a visit with a gyno/health clinic to see what's going on. It is normal for periods to fluctuate in intensity and symptoms, but for your own piece of mind, a visit with the doctor or nurse practitioner may be a good idea.

Thank you for your question and for finding EmpowHER. When are you expecting your next period to start? Should you have started already? If your period currently is late, you may want to wait a few days and of you don't get your period, try another home pregnancy test or make an appointment with your doctor to get a blood test to verify if you are or aren't pregnant. I would like to say that since the test came up negative you're probably just late, but I'm not a doctor, so I can't really say that.
If you're planning on continuing to be sexually active, you may want to investigate birth control methods (condoms, spermicide, birth control pills, etc.) to find what works for you and your partner. Sex should be fun, and not stressful. Protect yourself from unwanted pregnancy and STDs.
