other than pregnacy and menapause, what can make a girl not have a period for extended lengths of time?

i took the depo shot 3 times, i didnt have a period the whole time i was on it. i have been off it for about a year and still havent had a period. i spot occasionally, but there is no pattern.

Hi Anonymous,
There are so many stories from the depo shot that I often hear and a missing period is usually one of them. You should make an appointment with your doctor. They can prescribe you medication to force your period to start and then hopefully, your period will become normal again. If not, you can always be placed on birth control pills to regulate your period again. Either way, make an appointment with your doctor so they can help you regain your normal periods.
