Plan b/ ovulation/ pregnancy questions?

For the last couple days I’ve been a little nervous that I might be pregnant. I’ve had some symptoms for a week or so, but I didn’t think of them as symptoms because it’s so soon (if that’s what they are). I did take plan b at the beginning of the month and I forgot to account for that the next time I had sex. Here’s the timeline:

December 1- unprotected sex
December 3- took plan b
December 13-16 had my period on time and normal like always (mine is only 4 days)

December 18- had unprotected sex again
December 22-28 - according to my period app, which is normally very accurate, I was fertile
December 27- ovulation (according to the app) but normally when I ovulate I have bad pains and I felt nothing that day
December 31- I had a bit of spotting with some discharge. I never ever have spotting.

Based on the timeline, I thought it I wasn’t able to get pregnant because I wasn’t ovulating when I had sex. I also thought you didn’t show symptoms so soon if you are pregnant, but after a little research, apparently you can. Here’s what I’ve noticed:
I’ve been extremely exhausted constantly when there is no reason to be. Even if I sleep through the night, I still feel tired. Even at work it was a slow day last weekend and I kept saying I was so tired and I didn’t know why. I would be okay and then suddenly feel like I needed to go to bed immediately.
My boobs are swollen and I know that can be just a pms symptom, but it never happens to me. They aren’t sensitive or anything but I normally don’t have a ton of feeling in them to begin with.
The spotting that I never have (I just realized tonight that maybe it’s an effect from when I took plan b a few weeks ago). There was slight cramping with the spotting but it only lasted a few minutes.
I’ve been peeing more frequently.
I’ve been very stuffy (I thought nothing of it but I recently read that it can be a sign as well).
My face is really broken out but that normally only happens during my period.
I’ve been a little over emotional, but I’m also a little stressed.

I’m trying to find explanations for everything aside from it being pregnancy. I think I’m nervous, so maybe someone outside of the situation can look at this and tell me if I’m crazy.

I have not taken a test yet. My period isn’t due until January 10th, so I haven’t missed one yet.

So I sound insane or could this actually be something? I’m almost 28, so it wouldn’t be the end of the world, it’s just not ideal timing.

Thanks for the help!

Hello paul24

Thank you for writing.

If you are sure you ovulated on the 27th then it's very unlikely you're pregnant from sex on the 18th. While sperm can stay alive in the body up to 5 days, 9 days would probably be too much of a stretch. We cannot answer your questions definitively, of course.
Your symptoms could be from Plan B, as you said but I doubt it since you took it weeks ago - however it could explain the spotting/irregularity - that is common after taking emergency contraception.
You'll just have to wait and see - if you period is due on the 10th, an early test would be accurate a few days before that.

Susan

I didn’t have the usual cramping that I get when I ovulate, so I’m not sure if I did that day or not. My app that I track my period with said that it was supposed to be that day. I’m wondering if it’s possible that the plan b threw it off a bit?

I got a bit dizzy when I got out of bed today. I’m thinking these symptoms are all in my head because I’m nervous. Two of my friends are convinced that I’m pregnant, but the timeline is what makes me think I’m not.

I can't tell you what to think but listening to your friends and over-thinking everything isn't going to help - how on earth would your friends know if you were pregnant - that shows immaturity, not knowledge.
Stick to the science - your period will confirm you are not pregnant or pregnancy test 14 days post-sex. A test would be accurate by now, that is what tests are for. Take one and you will know today.
Best,
Susan
