Q:

Post menopause, painful intercourse

Being post-menopausal, and having done some research I understand why intercourse is painful and I would like any suggestions for improving the condition. Are there other products besides Neogyn that are effective in relieving the condition? (I am concerned that the threads in this subject all lead to this one product, is this just based on paid advertisement?) Would it be useful to do any stretching exercises to restore elasticity? I thought sex was supposed to be great past the age of fertility- the pain is frustrating!

Try Estring vaginal ring, it works when nothing else does. You need to replace it every 12 weeks and need an RX from your doctor. It is the miracle I needed.

Hi Anonymous,

Thank you for your question and welcome to Empowher. Vaginal atrophy is a common issue that postmenopausal women deal with due to the lack of estrogen. There are things that you can do to help and create a better outcome. Here is some information from our site here https://www.empowher.com/reproductive-system/content/coping-vaginal-changes-vaginal-atrophy.

I hope this helps. Please keep us posted.
