Pregnant and exposed to chemicals

I made a mistake, I am seven weeks pregnant and at 5 weeks I laid a tile floor with thinset concrete. I did not use gloves or mask. Then just yesterday I started to grout and then realized that it had a warning for birth defects and immediately stopped. I probably worked for an hour with it with not protection. What do you think the chances are that I hurt the baby. I am very concerned. I feel sick that I did this and couldn't sleep last night I am so worried, what should I do?

Hi Anonymous,
Are you experiencing any issues from your exposure? Have you called your physician? Were you in an area with ventilation?

Since you already had the exposure, I would contact your physician. If you want any additional information about possible exposures to certain chemicals and their effects on your health, you can visit the Occupational Hazard website here http://hazmap.nlm.nih.gov/cgi-bin/hazmap_generic?tbl=TblIndustries&id=498.

Please keep us posted on what your physician says. Good luck.
