Hi sridhaaran,
Most arachnoid cysts are asymptomatic and do not require treatment. Treatment may be necessary when symptomatic and then possibly require surgery. If you would like more peace of mind, you can always consult with a second neurologist and get another opinion.
Here is some more information on arachnoid cysts: http://www.ninds.nih.gov/disorders/arachnoid_cysts/arachnoid_cysts.htm
All the best to you and your son,
Rosa

thanks for your prompt response.
May 5, 2012 - 11:40pmHow to monitor the cyst size whether same size or increasing?
how frequency scanning (MRI or CT) is required for checking?
This Comment
Monitoring will likely be done through an MRI and this is a decision left up to your doctor.
Good luck,
Rosa
