Hi, I 45 years old living in NJ. I was recently diagnosed with a rare spine disease called OPLL (Ossification of the Posterior Longitudinal Ligament). I am told that if I don't have spine surgery I will be a quadrapelegic. I am having a difficult time finding someone who can operate that has experience with this rare disease. Please help.

Hi Anonymous,
Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. I have done some searching myself and this is a rare condition. My best advice to you would be to contact a University and I found this article with the University of Rochester Medical Center http://www.urmc.rochester.edu/smd/Rad/neurocases/Neurocase54.htm.
Trying to get in touch with a school that is providing research may be helpful as they tend to obtain information from around the world on case studies. I hope this helps. Please keep us posted.
