I'm usually very good about taking birth control pills. I travel alot and thus keep an exta pack in my suitcase just in case . This past week i left for vacation on Tuesday- I took my pull Tuesday, Wed, thurs, and Friday from my travel "pack" - Friday was my last active pill for the month. when I got home on Saturday, I noticed I did NOT take a pill on the Monday night before I left. Since I Didn't realize it, i Never doubled up. I did have sex while on vacation without using another method. Should I be worried about pregnancy? What do I do about the missed pill at this point...or just take inactive ones as scheduled and start next pack when I usually would? Thanks

Since you missed one active pill, I would just start your new pack as normal. It has been too long for a make-up pill now so just start your new pack as normal. You should always use a backup method of birth control if you miss any pills for at least 7 days. Hope that helps.

It was an active pill I missed. It was the Monda of week 3...Friday of week 3 is the last a give pill, so when I got home I realized I had missed the Monday BEFORE I left (ie. Day 17)

Hi Anonymous,
Since you took all your active pills, you should be fine. The inactive pills are actually just sugar pills to remind you to take your pill everyday. You do not have to take those pills at all. You should start your new pack on your normal start date as you necessarily did not skip any active pills.

There should not be a concern for pregnancy although there is always a chance since there is no 100% guarentee even on the pill.

I hope this helps. Good luck,
Missie
