Hi, It has been more than a month I noticed whenever I go to the bathroom I keep seeing dry flakes of blood, I also see dry flakes coming off from my bowel movement and I keep seeing chunks of dry things coming off from my bowel movement. I don't know what is all t his exactly. I saw my GI doctor few days ago he said he doesn't see anything serious but I still feel like something's wrong. He told me to get Culturelle probiotics which I got them today and I'm going to start taking them. Do you think such problem will solve it by taking the probiotics? I do know I have ovarian cyst and it's causing me stomach problems. I'm having a transvaginal ultrasound in about two weeks and with such things I noticed by going to the bathroom would you think the ultrasound would show what's the problem? Please let me know soon.

Hi Melissa,

Thank you for your question. Blood in your stool is due to many different things. The best thing you could have done is go to your GI doctor in order to have your stool tested. I am not exactly sure if your cysts would have anything to do with your bowel movements since this is a different body system - so I will assume that there is no correlation although getting a check up is a great idea.

Melissa, the biggest thing about any medical concern is if your GI doctor says there is nothing wrong but you are still concerned, have you thought about a second opinion?

Thank you for your reply. I have been thinking of second opinion and one main thing I realized is the symptoms I have are dry blood in stool, abdominal pain, fullness feeling in stomach, loss of appetite, nausea, gain weight in stomach, low energy, urgent feeling of going to the bathroom and constipation. I was reading something on this site that these are symptoms of ovarian cancer and after I realized I have such symptoms I saw my oncologist and he said he doesn't think is cancer but he did order a transvaginal ultrasound and I'm having it done in about two weeks. I was wondering these symptoms I have do you think my ovarian cyst is turning to ovarian cancer? I'm hoping I'm wrong though. Next week I'm turning 30. Would you think the pelvic/transvaginal ultrasound I'm having done show what's the problem especially in the stomach? Please let me know soon.
