Q:

Spotting for the first time?

Today, I thought my period was starting so I put a tampon in like always, but about 6 hours later there was only a little bit of spotting. This is the first time I have ever experienced this. I am 23 and have had my period since I was 13, and every time my period has ever started it, it starts very heavy. Could this be implantation spotting?

Hello Anon

Thank you for writing.

Implantation bleeding happens about 5-7 days before a period is due. I assume your period was on time. Periods change, even when normally so regular. Time and age changes things. If you have been having unprotected sex and your period still hasn't come on then take a test.
