I saw the show you were on with "The Doctors" and it gave me hope that I might get some answers.

I am a 37 year old female from South Africa, who is battling with symptoms I don't understand. I had decompression surgery 3 years ago (Arnold Chiari Syndrome), and since then I've just continued to pick up weight. We live a healthy lifestyle, because we live on a farm. Toghether with the weight I have noticed that I'm starting to get more and more hard facial hair and I'm always dead tired. My menstruaI cycle is also out of synch, as well as very heavy. I drink vitamine tablets that the doctor prescribed (Gericomplex), but haven't noticed any improvement.

Please help!!

Thank you!!

Tania

Dear Tania,

I'm sorry you're experiencing these symptoms. Weight gain, fatigue, hair growth, and menstrual changes actually sound more like a hormonal imbalance than anything related to your decompression surgery three years ago. I did consult this with my very handy best friend who is a neurology nurse and she agrees. The best thing you can do for yourself is to go to your doctor and ask for hormone testing along with another testing he may find relevant.

I hope this helps and hope you start feeling like yourself soon,

Rosa
