Q:

Stuck Tampon?

I am 14, I am a virgin, and the only thing that has been up my vagina is a tampon. The first time I used one, I was 12 it came out fine. The second time, it was stuck (I was in a bathroom with no mirror) so I was in the bathroom for 40 minutes trying to (painfully) tear it apart. The next time one got stuck, I looked in a mirror and saw a piece of skin stuck near the center by the string of the tampon. I, again painfully, tried to move the skin and pulled the tampon out. I tried it twice again and had the same issue. Today, I tried wearing a tampon again since tomorrow for school we have a choir competition and we will be at an amusement park all day. I was in the bathroom in the nurse's office and it was stuck. I painfully and blindly tried to move the skin and take the tampon out, and I have been sore all day. What should I do?

Hello and thank you for sharing your question.

I suggest that you first try using a smaller size tampon.  But I must question whether you are using the tampon correctly or not.  When the tampon is saturated, it is time to remove it.  Because of the moisture and weight of the tampon, there should be no problem removing it. It may get stuck because it is too big and is not completely saturated when you try to remove it.

If you are already using the smallest size and you are using it properly, yet you still have problems; then I suggest that you use pads instead because you will only continue to have the same problems.
