Switching to different BC pills mid pack

I was originally on Microgestin FE and was totally fine. For whatever reason our pharmacy wasn't getting it anymore, so when I finished my first 3 months, the gave me norethindrone acetate ethinyl/estradiol which is just the generic version of Micro. I got really bad side effects for the next two months on that pill, so my new doc wrote me a prescription for Blisovi 24 FE, again same makeup but not the same pill. This one is also different cause it's a 24 day active pack, not 21. Since I had to wait for my pharmacy to get it, I had to start on my 3rd pack of NAEE in the mean time-I'm 3 days in. Should I just finish out this month on NAEE completely before starting Blisovi? Or can I just open it up tonight and start from day 1 of the Blisovi? Or should I start on the 4th Blisovi pill today cause that's where I'd be on the NAEE pack?

Hello flowerpower2195

Thanks for writing!

As long as the active ingredients are exactly the same, you can start Day 4 of the Blisovi pill today OR you can simply finish the pack off and start the new brand. It's up to you. You might save a bit of money by finishing off the pack but if you move on to the Blisovi today, make sure it's the exact same pill (and day) as your NAEE equivalent.
Best,
Susan
