Trying to conceive after contraceptives

Hey!!! Me and my husband are trying for baby #2. I've only been off of my birth control for 2 months which I have seen my cycle twice. This time it came 2 days earlier than last month making it a 26 day cycle than a 28 day cycle. I'm not sure if my ovulation days are correct or if I'm even ovulating yet. Has anyone been through this and is it a long while to conceive.

Guide

Hi Mommielove and thanks for bringing your question to EmpowhER.

As you know, birth control pills work by stopping ovulation. When you stop taking them, the hormones from the pills leave your body quickly, and then your body starts to function on its own again.

Every woman is a unique individual, and some may take only a couple of weeks to start ovulation while others may take several months. Generally speaking it takes two to three months after stopping the pill to ovulate normally unless you had ovulation issues prior to starting the pill.

On average, it takes most couples about four to five months to get pregnant, and a large percentage take up to one year. Good luck, we hope all goes well for you!

Best,

Pam

Thanks for responding so quickly. Thanks for all the information that you have given me and I will take it into consideration. I thought to myself that it was going to take a while because I was on the pill for 7 years and just recently got off. We will continue to try and hope for the best.

Thanks
