My boyfriend and I are trying to have a baby. I'm 32, my periods are usually 5 days long and really heavy, with lots of cramping and clots. My last period? was abnormal. It was 3 days early. No cramping was involved at all. It started late afternoon early evening on saturday and by sunday night I stopped bleeding. It wasn't heavy. I filled maybe one and a half pads in a 24hr time frame. On monday I was just spotting, had some brown discharge but mostly when I wiped. Only had to use one pad that day. Tuesday same thing. Was bright red, almost mauve but only when I wiped. On Wed there was absolutely no sign of it. I've been having cramping on and off for a week now. This morning I woke up almost throwing up in my sleep and that has never happened before. I'm not due for my next period for 3 weeks. What could be causing these symptoms and the cramping?

Guide

Hi,
Since you are trying to get pregnant and have just experienced an abnormal period, it would be a good idea to make an appointment to see your gynecologist or healthcare provider. Your doctor can examine you and determine the underlying cause of the cramping, abnormal flow and nausea. A pre-pregnancy visit is helpful to prepare for a healthy pregnancy.
