What could this lump on my left breast be?

I am 16 years old. About a year ago I had a mole removed and tested for cancer. The results came back negative. About a month ago I realized that I have a lump on the lower part of my left breast. I can tell it is there with just a touch, it is not hard to find. I believe it is bigger than when I first found it. Also, for the past 6 months I have been getting very severe chronic yeast infections and the doctor does not know why. I also get extremly ba cramps in the area of my uterus and ovaries all the time. My lower adomen seems to swell when I get these sharp pains. I feel like I have to urinate a lot more freguently also. My doctor placed me on birth control to help regulate my period because I was having unusual heavy bleeding and try to calm my cramps. I feel like this pain is getting worse but I am not sure if it's bc of my reacurrent yeast infections or my birth control or something else? What my main question though is, is what could this lump be? Could it be a swollen lymph node from my chronic yeast infections? Or maybe a cyst? I am very worried and scared to tell anyone. Can you please help me?

So glad to help, but very glad that you told your mother and will be evaluated.

Best wishes,

Thank you. I really appreciate your reply. I told my mom and she made me an appointment to go to the doctors to be examined.

Hi Lex,

i can understand how you are feeling. When I was 14 years old, I discovered a lump on my breast. At first, I was scared and hope it would just go away. Then, I realized this was silly and I told my mother. Together, we visited her gynecologist who referred us to a surgeon. The lump was benign, not cancerous, and was removed.

Tell your mother. Make an appointment with  your doctor to be examined. If it is more than a superficial mass ( on the surface), an ultrasound of the breast may be ordered.

The best way to calm your concerns is to be examined. Chronic yeast infections do not cause a swollen lymph node. The lymph nodes in the  breast area are located in the area of your armpits.
