Q:

What is the possiblity of getting pregnant one week after taking Plan B?

I had unprotected sex and the following morning took plan B. 4 days later I got my period (I think it was my period) which was 2 weeks early.

One week after taking plan B I had unprotected sex again ( pull out method) and now 5 days later I am experiencing spotting and vaginal discharge. I am too afraid to take a pregnancy test. Is this due to side effects from Plan B or pregnancy?

Hi Anon

Plan B is not the same as birth control, so any time you have unprotected sex you risk pregnancy. If you go to the Plan B website it states that it can cause breakthrough bleeding and changes in your cycle for a couple of months, but it does not continue to protect you from pregnancy.

This means you could be pregnant or it could be from the Plan B. If you do not want to raise a child you really need to use some type of contraceptive each and every time you have sex.

Good luck.
