Q:

What should I do? Am i worrying too much?

Me and my boyfriend have done the whole genital rubbing thing, but always with a condom on. He never really ejaculates and when he does, he tells me and i move. I took plan b about 7 weeks ago, because we did genital rubbing with no condom or clothes on, and i got my period about a week after that. It was very heavy and lasted 4 days. Could I be pregnant? My stomach is starting to look odd, and i dont know if that is just me being nervous.

Also, my boyfriend has touched himself once, ejaculated, wiped his hands on a towel, and after about 5 mins he touched my vagina. Could the sperm have still been alive and should i take plan b? I will not do this again i didnt realize it was the same hand, although like i said it was 5 min after he ejaculated and he wiped his hands. His fingers didnt go too far in.

Is there a chance of getting pregnant this way even though he wiped his hands and waited 5 min?
I have taken 3 at-home pregnancy tests. All said Not Pregnant. One was taken about a week after the other two. Should I take one at a clinic? Or stop worrying?

Hi Anonymous,

It sounds like you are concern if this most recent sexual encounter could have gotten you pregnant.
According to Roger W. Mann, MD of the Mayo Clinic:
The life span of sperm after ejaculation depends on the environmental conditions. Sperm ejaculated into a woman's vagina can live in a woman's reproductive tract for up to five days or perhaps even longer. Fertilization is possible as long as the sperm remain alive. Sperm ejaculated outside the body may survive only minutes to a few hours.

There is always a possibility that there were still some sperm on his hand when he touched your vagina. You said that he only wiped his hand but didn't use soap and water, did he?

Lastly, a home pregnancy test is accurate only if taken a week after a missed period. Try to relax. If seeing a healthcare professional at a clinic will make you feel better, do so.

No, he didn't use soap and water. He had cum on his hands, wiped it with a cloth towel, and after about 5 min touched me but didnt exactly "finger" me. This happened recently. As for about a few weeks ago, I took those tests a few weeks after my missed period. Although I am irregular. Could it be possible to be pregnant after what previously happened with the whole plan b situation?
