Why am I getting hot flashes and chills two years after a complet hysterectomy?

I had a complete emergency hysterectomy over two years ago. I did not have any hot flashes and did not have to go on any hormones. For the last week I am having hot flashes and extreme chills. I lost my health coverage (after 30 years) due to inability to afford premiums and have gone about 30 days without my thyroid medication and I search for a provider that will see me without insurance. Could this be causing my symptons?

Hi StrawberryBlonde,

Welcome to EmpowHer! Do you have hypo- or hyperthyroidism?

If you are not on medication, it could be that you are now experiencing symptoms of your thyroid condition. You can go to a health clinic to bee seen by a Doctor or ARNP and they will provide you with your medication at low cost since you do not have insurance.

Please let us know if you need any help locating a clinic around your area.

Best Wishes,

Rosa
