Why do I still have occassional pain around my scare since my full hysterectomy 21/2 yrs. ago?

Thank you for your question and welcome to EmpowHer. Have you been back to your doctor to see if there were any issues with your surgery that will cause the pain? Secondly, there may always be pain associated with surgical scars as there are many nerve endings that are injured and they may take many years to come back. Are there some times that you feel an area and it is still numb then all of a sudden, there is feeling back? That’s the nerves coming back…

The scar pain is pretty common, I had ankle surgery and have about an eight inch scar and have pains from time to time. If you have any concern, contact your physician to be sure there are no issues such as an infection. I hope this helps.
