Is there a scientific reason we see the dress differently? Does it have something to do with our vision?

I saw white and gold as well. I remember seeing in my news feed and thinking it's wasn't my style and thought nothing more of it. But oh boy has it taken a life of it's own. Here's an EmpowHER community Share on the topic: https://www.empowher.com/community/share/blue-and-black-v-white-and-gold-why-cant-we-trust-what-we-see

I've started switching back and forth. I like it better white and gold... I wish it would just stay that way!

Initially I saw the dress as white and gold but the more I looked at it (may have had something to do with the input of everyone else) I began seeing more blue where I had first seen the white.
Then a couple hours later I looked at it again and I saw blue and black! Very weird!
I think it may have to do with our vision and in my case, the power of what your mind can really do! I'm interested to find out exactly how everyone's vision is not created equally!

Interesting post on why we all may see things differently: https://www.empowher.com/community/share/blue-and-black-vs-white-and-gold-why-cant-we-trust-what-we-see.

I saw it as white and gold! All the people I have asked have also seen it this way. I thought it was a hoax, but there is something really crazy about why this is happening! I'm so interested to find out, too!
