Okay so here it goes, I had UNPROTECTED sex with my boyfriend March 28th 2012! Yes, he came in me 4 or more times that night. (I would say it was a busy night) Now let me go back a little and give some more information so you can better answer my question. I found out that I was pregnant Jan 7, 2012 I ended up having a miscarriage and had to get a DNC done on Feb. 11, 2012. The following day I started birth control (ortho tri cyclen low or similar to that) I took the first pack and I bled for a total of 32 days off and on after my DNC. I started the second pack, but because my insurance was messed up I ended up getting my birth control late. So I took the first 3 pills of the pack all on the same day. I continued to take the second pack of birth control pills around the same time every day after that. And that is where it leads me to having unprotected sex with my boyfriend on March 28, 2012 all the way into March 29, 2012. I started bleeding on April 4th, 2012 and ended my second pack of birth control on April 1st, 2012 and decided that I didn't want to take birth control no more so I finished out my second pack and never started a new one. As I was saying I started my period April 4, 2012 and it wasn't all that heavy or anything it was actually pretty light when thinking of a period. So I expected my next period to come on or around April 30, 2012. (Keep in mind that i haven't had sexual intercourse since the nights of March 28th and March 29th) So instead of my period coming on April 30th, 2012 I start spotting a brown discharge on April 23, 2012 and still to this day now May 5th, 2012 because it's after midnight I am still spotting brown. Some days I will think that it is done and nope it's still there. I haven't had no type of gushing and I wouldn't say that there was any "reddish" or "pinkish" color to it at all, none that I noticed, I have some cramping here and there but it is really nothing serious at all. So I'm wondering what is going on?? Can someone please give me an IDEA of what might be going on??? I call my OB/GYN and they don't tell me nothing I search online hours after hours and can't find nothing relating to what I am going through. Do you think there is a chance that I may be pregnant? or what?????? please SERIOUS answers ONLY! and please someone help me! Thank you

Thank you for your question. I think the brown spotting is your period. Since you stopped taking birth control and recently had a miscarriage, your hormones are probabl all over the place right now. Bleeding, whether it is red or brown, is still your period so I wouldn't be too concerned that you are pregnant. If you are still concerned, take a pregnancy test to alm your nerves. The bleeding that appears brown in color is usually the lining of your uterus shedding from your last period and appears to be brown in color rather than the normal "blood red". This is actually fairly common. I hope this helps and good luck. Keep us posted.

Thank you, you actually calmed me down, i never had this problem before. I am actually going to go buy a HPT test today and take it to see what it says and I'll be sure to come back and tell you what the results are. (I do want a baby, but it's too soon to have one right now
