Q:

Why is my body reacting to normal, every day chores as if I just ran a 10K?

I have posted previously about trigger points, upper extremity pain, numbness and tingling, and this is just another lovely symptom to go along with the entire mess. For instance, I was doing yardwork yesterday and today (this is not unusual for me, I'm a fairly active person), and my body is acting as if I just ran a road-race. My muscles are sore, and I feel like the tissues and fluids in my body are totally inflamed - almost like a bloated feeling. Sometimes I can actually feel it swelling. My doctor (a rheumatologist), says it's just a viscious circle..the muscles get tweaked, pain and inflammation, trigger points, pain and tingling, and over and over it goes. Why in the world does such a small amount of activity produce such a huge reaction? My doctor just raised my Pristiq dose to 100mg/day, but I'm still having pain and exaggerated symptoms.

Hi Pat...I still don't have any answers....After doing some more research, I was 90 percent convinced that some of this was caused by an adverse effect from the simvastatin that I was taking for a short time (6 months). My doctor agrees somewhat, but still wants to send me to a neurologist. While I say that I am mostly convinced about the statin effect, I can't find any answers on how long these effects may last....Glad you remembered me and my crazy case! Sue

Hi Sue - I remember well your previous posts. Are you saying that you still don't have any answers and are still trying to get a clarification on your diagnosis? What's going on in terms of helping you figure out what this is?
I'm going to send you a private message on something that may help you, something you can research on your own as I don't have knowledge on whether it will help or not, but it does seem like it's worth checking out.
Take care, Pat
