It is more preventative than having to get an ultra sound because your base line is too far off from your previous mam. The slight discomfort from a mam is nothing compared to breast cancer. If you can say to yourself, I want to die, I am ready to die, if something is wrong I will not seek treatments, then that is the time to stop getting your yearly mams.
