I normally don't do this but. I feel like I need to share. In March 2011, my husband bought a Cardio Pulse Wave device to use in his office. I was curious to know how I would do. I had no symptoms of illness or anything but, in my parents side of the family, there are health issues. I lost my mother six years ago. She had a massive stroke, was in a coma and my brothers and I had to make a very hard decision. She was diabetic, high blood pressure, loss of vision on one eye, kidney failure, was on dialysis for three years. I knew that Cardiovascular health is critically important to your overall well being. So, I had the test done. The device is a non-invasive pulse wave acquisition using modified applanation tonometry to acquire reliable and accurate real time arterial radial pulse waves. Results....I had arteries of a 60yr old woman. What?? Are you kidding me?? I feel great though. How could this be? I'm only 38, weigh 117, and I eat as healthy as possible. You've heard, "don't judge a book by it's cover" right? Well, I was told that one may seem healthy from the outside but, does not necessarily mean good healthy heart. I was put on a protocol and retested in June. Results...my arteries were of a 20yr old. Yes!! I will accept that! Continued with the protocol and made some lifestyle changes. Retested this month and my results were better. I now have a cardiovascular health of a teenager. Wow!! It is possible. My point in this....Your healthy body should maintain good blood pressure and healthy arterial pulse waveforms. But what happens when both do not behave as well as it should be? Problems start happening like HB pressure, diabetes, etc. We've heard how heart disease is the silent killer. I was not going to wait until I got older or had symptoms. I wanted prevention. That's the key. I'm sharing this to hopefully encourage you to take action, do what is necessary now not later. I feel better than I did when I was younger. I exercise 5 days a week and recover quicker, I sleep better, I eat healthier, etc. I feel great! I can go on and on with this but, it would be too long. I am here if you have questions.
