My Mom is 74 & has some type of degenerating brain disease. I am not sure what type. As a result of chemo she has also had a couple strokes. Over the past 2 years she has slowly lost her sight. She can still carry on a conversation for the most part. The past week she has lost her ability to contol her muscles to the point she cant even sit up. She was just admitted to a nursing home for possible rehab which we all know is very doughtful. What can I expect her demise symptoms to be like & how much time will that take. Thank You Kim

Kim, what a difficult time for you. I'm so sorry about your mom's condition. I know how hard it is to have a family member with a degenerative brain disease; my father-in-law had Alzheimer's, and I know of a family whose father is dealing with Parkinson's disease.
Do you have a good relationship with your mother's primary caregiver? Has she or he given you any information about her symptoms or her prognosis?
You said she has had chemo; was that for a different area of the body, or do you suspect it is contributing to her disease?
Hang in there, and give us some more information when you can.
