I had a hysterectomy in May of last year. I am a 61 year old woman. About 6 months later I experienced pain in my joints. It was so bad that some of my bones cracked when I moved my limbs. I feel stiff when I walk. My skin is so dry that I have to appear lotions and salves daily.
I had the hysterectomy because I had light bleeding and some twenty five or more fibroids. The doctor performed a sonogram on the fibroids because of the bleeding and I received a number of 6 or 7. He had already told me if the number higher than 5 he would do a DNC. The reading from the sonogram came back with a reading of 7. It was then that he suggested a hysterectomy removing the uterus and ovaries.

Hello Anonymous,
Welcome to EmpowHER and thank you for sharing your story with our community.
Have you been diagnosed with osteoporosis? Are you receiving any therapy, such as calcium and vitamin D supplements? Has your doctor determined the cause of your severe dry skin?
