Dr. Sandra Cabot treated a woman suffering from fibromyalgia who had areas of inflammation in some tendons and joints. She also suffered from psoriasis. A bone mineral density test showed considerable bone loss.

The woman was unable to tolerate drugs so Dr. Cabot addressed her health issues nutritionally. The woman started a gluten free diet as well as raw juicing, and took nutritional supplements recommended by Dr. Cabot. She began an exercise program to increase bone mineral density.

The changed diet, added supplements and juicing reduced inflammation. Inflammatory chemicals also cause depression, so reducing inflammation also helped relieve this along with the pain.

"The program took 2 months to produce significant benefits and after 4 months she had a 70% reduction in her pain scores. Four months after commencement of her program her blood tests showed normalization of the inflammatory markers ESR and CRP and her serum vitamin D levels were well into the normal range. Her psoriasis was almost imperceptible and her toe nail bases were looking normal and healthy. Interestingly she had lost 35 pounds in weight and her digestive and reflux problems were greatly improved probably because of the gluten free diet and raw juicing."
