The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention has issued guidelines which endorse regular exercise as a means to reduce the risk of diabetes, heart disease and some types of cancers.

Exercise is beneficial for cholesterol and triglyceride levels. Strength training can lower cholesterol.

Exercise is good for the heart and cardiovascular system. Spending half an hour a day, on most days, can reduce blood pressure and normalize weight.

The brain will benefit. Our concentration improves, our brain cells thrive, our blood flow is improved when we make a point of getting some exercise.

"At the most basic level, our metabolic function and ability to fight off disease is dependent on the food we eat and the amount and type of exercise we provide for our well being. Exercise provides the added benefits of improving mood, boosting energy levels and providing for better sleep. Regular exercise is part of the formula necessary to remain healthy."
