Hi there,
I've been dealing with anxiety for the past 6 or so years now - and wow, is it a pain! It's amazing how you can be a generally positive person and still deal with the issue.
Over the years I've found a mix of yoga, cardio exercise, medicine and therapy really helps. I've started meditating and that's had a positive effect as well. Anyone else have any treatments that really seem to work? I'd love to hear about them!
definitely agree - thank you for your help, Susan!

I have undergone two separate periods of therapy. Both have been
October 27, 2011 - 10:01amproductive and beneficial in helping me recognize and manage my
anxiety situation. An overwhelming feeling of sadness, inadequacy,
and feeling closed in, are signals indicating that certain steps are
necessary for me to avoid a full blown depression.
This condition was born out of medication prescribed for me. I"ve never been one who readily likes taking medication but being an
Asthmatic doesn't pay any attention to that. So when I was convinced that psychotropic medication was properly the way to
go for me, I had some trepidation about it. In making a long story
short, I started taking Lexapro. It was the best thing I did for my
depression. I don't have to take it consistently, but I will most likely
be on it for the rest of my life because I'll be taking some type of steroid for Asthma for the rest of my life. I now know that there is some alleviation for those dark, desperate periods that are certain to come along.
